Most places that sell truck accessories do not repair trucks. That is fine until the build starts interacting with the vehicle — a lift that changes steering geometry, a bumper sitting in front of the cooling stack in August, a gooseneck rated for more than the truck is, larger tires quietly re-gearing everything. Nobody in a parts counter is looking at that.

We fit accessories to trucks we already service. The same technicians who diagnose a Cummins, a Power Stroke, or a Duramax are the ones deciding whether your build works on your truck — and it comes back to us for its service intervals afterward, to people who know exactly what is on it.

And it is not only diesels. The Tundra in the photo above is on the lift for wheels and tires; we fit accessories to gas pickups and SUVs, to the vans and medium-duty trucks a business runs, and to the side-by-side on the trailer behind them. Between the lines we are an authorized dealer for and the 70-plus we buy through our distributors, there is very little made for these vehicles we cannot get — and on price, expertise, and the dealer network behind the parts, we do not think anyone in Austin beats us.

Work that goes with a build

A build is rarely just the parts. Ride height wants an alignment, larger tires want tire service that can handle the size, added weight wants the brakes and suspension looked at, and a hitch is worth nothing if the trailer behind it is not right. We do all of it here rather than sending you somewhere else halfway through.

What brands do you carry?

Modern Diesel is an authorized dealer for AEV, B&W, Rugged Radios, and FASS. Beyond those we sell and install 70-plus lines through our distributors — Carli, Fox, Ranch Hand, Retrax, WARN, and more; the full list is on this page. It is not exhaustive: if a line makes something for your truck, we can usually get it, within availability and cost. Call and tell us what you are trying to do with the vehicle.

Do you do emissions deletes or tuning?

No. We repair emissions systems so they work properly instead. Everything in our accessories line is bolt-on hardware — suspension, bumpers, armor, wheels, hitches, lighting — and none of it touches your emissions equipment.

Do you install parts I bought elsewhere?

Often, yes — ask us. What we will not do is fit something we can see is wrong for the truck and then warrant the result. If you have already bought it, bring it and we will tell you honestly what we think before anything comes apart.

Why buy accessories from a diesel repair shop?

Because the truck under the accessories is the part that costs money. Ride height, tire size, and added weight change how the driveline, brakes, cooling, and steering are loaded, and a shop that only fits accessories is not looking at any of that. We service these trucks every day, so the build and the truck get looked at together — and it comes back to us for its service intervals afterward.

How much does it cost?

Quoted per vehicle. What a build costs depends entirely on the platform and how far you take it, so we do not publish packages — tell us what you drive and what you need it to do, including when the honest answer is that a smaller build gets you what you actually want.
