Truck Accessories & Aftermarket in Austin, TX

Lift kits, bumpers, armor, and hitches — sold and fitted by the shop that services the truck underneath them.

Accessories from a shop that works on the drivetrain

Most places that sell truck accessories do not repair trucks. That is fine until the build starts interacting with the vehicle — a lift that changes steering geometry, a bumper sitting in front of the cooling stack in August, a gooseneck rated for more than the truck is, larger tires quietly re-gearing everything. Nobody in a parts counter is looking at that.

We fit accessories to trucks we already service. The same technicians who diagnose a Cummins, a Power Stroke, or a Duramax are the ones deciding whether your build works on your truck — and it comes back to us for its service intervals afterward, to people who know exactly what is on it.

Lines we carry

Beyond the lines we carry directly, we source through the major national distributors, so we are not limited to one brand's catalog. If you know what you want, we can usually get it; if you do not, tell us what the truck needs to do and we will work back from there.

What we fit

Lift Kits & Suspension

From a leveling kit to clear a bigger tire, up to a full engineered suspension system — fitted, aligned, and checked against what the rest of the truck can carry.

  • Leveling kits to clear a larger tire
  • Full suspension systems with the geometry engineered in
  • Shocks, control arms, and steering components
  • Alignment afterward — not as an upsell, as part of the job
  • Driveline angle, brake, and tire-load checks for the new height

Lines: AEV.

Bumpers & Armor

Front and rear bumpers, underbody protection, and recovery points — fitted so the truck’s own systems still behave the way they were built to.

  • Front and rear replacement bumpers
  • Winch mounting and the electrical to support it
  • Skid plates and underbody protection
  • Rock sliders and step protection
  • Recovery points rated for actual recovery

Lines: AEV.

Bed Covers & Liners

Tonneau covers, bed liners, racks, and toolboxes — including the ones that have to coexist with a gooseneck ball.

  • Roll-up, folding, retractable, and one-piece covers
  • Gooseneck- and fifth-wheel-compatible covers
  • Spray-in and drop-in bed liners
  • Bed racks and cross bars
  • Toolboxes, and covers that work with one

Wheels & Tires

Aftermarket wheels and going up a tire size — done with load rating, offset, and what the truck actually carries as the constraints.

  • Aftermarket wheels — sizing, offset, and backspacing
  • Going up a tire size, and what has to be true first
  • Load range and load rating for a truck that works
  • Fitment alongside a lift or leveling kit
  • TPMS with aftermarket wheels
  • Mounting, balancing, and alignment afterward

Lines: AEV.

Towing & Hitches

Gooseneck, fifth-wheel, and receiver hitches — supplied, installed, and wired by a shop that also repairs what you are towing.

  • Under-bed gooseneck installation
  • Fifth-wheel hitches, including gooseneck-ball-mounted systems
  • Receiver hitches and adjustable ball mounts
  • Trailer wiring and brake controllers
  • Trailer inspection and repair on the same visit

Emissions stay intact

Everything on this page is bolt-on hardware. We do not delete or bypass emissions systems and we do not tune around aftertreatment — we repair those systems so they work properly instead. A build should make your truck more useful, not fail its next inspection.

Work that goes with a build

A build is rarely just the parts. Ride height wants an alignment, larger tires want tire service that can handle the size, added weight wants the brakes and suspension looked at, and a hitch is worth nothing if the trailer behind it is not right. We do all of it here rather than sending you somewhere else halfway through.

Tell us what the truck does

The most useful thing you can tell us is not which kit you want — it is what the truck is for. A truck that tows an equipment trailer five days a week and a truck that goes to Big Bend twice a year want different builds, and one of them is cheaper than you think. Call 512-717-2777 and we will scope it honestly.

Common questions

What brands do you carry?

Modern Diesel is an authorized AEV dealer, and we can source parts through the major national distributors — so if a line makes something for your truck, we can usually get it. Call and tell us what you are trying to do with the vehicle.

Do you do emissions deletes or tuning?

No. We repair emissions systems so they work properly instead. Everything in our accessories line is bolt-on hardware — suspension, bumpers, armor, wheels, hitches, lighting — and none of it touches your emissions equipment.

Do you install parts I bought elsewhere?

Often, yes — ask us. What we will not do is fit something we can see is wrong for the truck and then warrant the result. If you have already bought it, bring it and we will tell you honestly what we think before anything comes apart.

Why buy accessories from a diesel repair shop?

Because the truck under the accessories is the part that costs money. Ride height, tire size, and added weight change how the driveline, brakes, cooling, and steering are loaded, and a shop that only fits accessories is not looking at any of that. We service these trucks every day, so the build and the truck get looked at together — and it comes back to us for its service intervals afterward.

How much does it cost?

Quoted per vehicle. What a build costs depends entirely on the platform and how far you take it, so we do not publish packages — tell us what you drive and what you need it to do, including when the honest answer is that a smaller build gets you what you actually want.
