Diesel & Truck Repair for Hutto, TX

A construction town on the toll road. The route to us is the same road your trucks already run — straight down 130, no interstate.

Getting here from Hutto

Hutto sits at US-79 and SH-130, which makes the drive to us unusually simple: south on 130 to the FM 973 exit, roughly 25 miles and about half an hour outside of peak. There is no I-35 involved at any point, which is the whole reason 130 exists.

Hutto has spent the last decade turning from a farming town into one of the fastest-growing places in Williamson County, and the truck population reflects it. What runs here is construction: dump trucks, water trucks, concrete, equipment transport, and the trades that follow residential subdivisions. The Co-Op District downtown is the visible version of that change, but most of the truck work is in the industrial land along 130 and in the supplier spillover from the semiconductor build ten miles east in Taylor.

What runs in Hutto

  • Residential construction — Subdivision buildout across Williamson County — dump trucks, water trucks, concrete, and the equipment haulers that move iron between sites.
  • The SH-130 industrial belt — Warehousing and light industry along the corridor, most of it newer than the roads serving it.
  • Samsung supplier spillover — Hutto absorbs contractors and suppliers working the Taylor fab ten miles east on US-79. We service those haulers and trades — not the plant.
  • US-79 — The east–west spine linking Hutto to Round Rock one way and Taylor the other, and a road that sees a lot of loaded aggregate.
  • Ag equipment, still — The farm base has not vanished — tractors and grain and livestock trailers still work the land the subdivisions have not reached.

What Hutto fleets use us for most

We are an independent, family-owned shop — not a chain, not private equity — at 2900 N FM 973, Austin, TX 78725. That means the person who owns it is the person you can get on the phone, and nobody here is working a corporate quota.

Common questions

How far is your shop from Hutto?

Roughly 25 miles — south on SH-130 to the FM 973 exit, generally about half an hour outside of rush hour. It is one of the easier drives in our service area because it never touches I-35. For a business running several trucks, concierge pickup removes even that.

Do you work on construction and dump trucks?

Yes, and it is a large share of what we see from this side of the county. Dump and vocational trucks live a harder life than highway tractors — constant loading cycles, job-site dust, short runs that never let the aftertreatment get hot, and PTO and hydraulic systems a road tractor does not have. We service the truck, the body systems, and the trailers behind them.

Our dump trucks keep derating on the job site. Why?

Almost always incomplete regeneration. A truck that idles at a site, crawls, dumps, and crawls back never builds sustained exhaust temperature, so soot accumulates faster than it burns off and the engine eventually derates to protect the aftertreatment. It is a duty-cycle problem more than a defect. We clean and service the system, look upstream for a real fault, and set an interval built around how the trucks actually work rather than the book number.

Can you do our annual DOT inspections?

Yes, for trucks and trailers both. The trailer needs its own inspection and its own sticker, separate from the truck pulling it, which is the thing construction fleets most often get caught on at roadside. We can schedule the fleet together so it is one coordination rather than a dozen.

Do you service farm tractors and equipment?

Yes — agricultural and construction equipment both, on the commercial side. We do not work on generators or standby power units. Tractors, skid steers, excavators, and the trailers that haul them are all in scope.
