Diesel Service

MoPac Corridor Diesel Repair

MoPac is a commuter road, not a freight route — so the diesel on it is service fleets and vans, and we work on those too.

Getting here from MoPac

MoPac runs north to south on the west side, which puts it furthest of any corridor from our east-side shop. Most fleets cross via SH-45, US-290, or SH-71 rather than through downtown.

MoPac (Loop 1) is worth being honest about: it is a commuter corridor, not a freight one, and you will not find many Class 8 trucks on it. What you will find is the service economy of west Austin — HVAC and plumbing vans, landscape trucks, contractor pickups, and light-duty diesel — plus the Sprinter and cargo-van fleets serving businesses along it.

What runs MoPac

  • Commuter, not freight — Little through-truck traffic — the fleets here are service vans and work trucks.
  • Trades and service fleets — HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and landscape outfits serving west and central Austin.
  • Sprinter and cargo vans — Delivery and mobile-service vans, which are a real specialty of ours.
  • Light-duty diesel pickups — Power Stroke, Cummins, and Duramax trucks used as work vehicles.
  • Distance is the honest catch — We are on the east side. For a single van a closer shop may make more sense — for a fleet, pickup solves it.

What MoPac fleets use us for most

We are an independent, family-owned shop — not a chain, not private equity — at 2900 N FM 973, Austin, TX 78725. That means the person who owns it is the person you can get on the phone, and nobody here is working a corporate quota.

Common questions

You are on the east side. Why would a MoPac fleet use you?

For a single van, honestly, maybe you should not — a closer shop may serve you better and we will say so. For a fleet it is different: concierge pickup and delivery means we collect the vehicles and bring them back, so the distance stops being your problem and you get one shop covering vans, pickups, and anything heavier.

Do you work on Sprinter vans?

Yes, and they are a specialty. Mercedes, Freightliner, and Dodge Sprinters share a platform and we service all three — including the OM642 and OM651 engines, emissions systems, and the AdBlue faults these vans are known for.

Is MoPac a truck route?

Not really, and that is the point of this page. It is a commuter corridor, so the diesel on it is service vans and work pickups rather than freight. That is different work and we do plenty of it.
