Diesel Service

Diesel Heavy Equipment Repair in Austin, TX

Skid steers, excavators, loaders, and the off-road diesel behind them. When a machine is down, the job stops — we get it diagnosed and back to work.

Caterpillar and Kubota — and everything else on the yard

Caterpillar and Kubota are the two makes we see most, and between them they cover most of what works an Austin job site. Cat skid steers, compact track loaders, and mini excavators earning their keep on commercial sites; Kubota excavators, tractors, and compact diesels doing everything from site prep to landscape work. We know their service intervals, their fault patterns, and where they hide problems.

That said, nobody runs one brand. We take in John Deere, Bobcat, Case, New Holland, Komatsu, Takeuchi, Yanmar, JCB, and Ditch Witch among others — because the engine inside matters more than the badge on the side.

The engines inside your equipment

Machine brands buy their power from a short list of engine makers, and that is what we actually work on:

  • Cat C-series — C2.2 through C7 and up, in Cat's own machines and others'
  • Kubota V-series — the compact diesels in an enormous range of equipment
  • Yanmar — compact excavators and OEM power for other brands
  • Deutz and Perkins — industrial and off-road power units
  • Cummins — B-series and industrial engines in larger machines
  • Isuzu industrial — a common OEM engine in excavators and equipment

Equipment we service

  • Skid steers and compact track loaders
  • Excavators, from mini to full-size
  • Wheel loaders, backhoes, and telehandlers
  • Tractors and agricultural diesel
  • Trenchers, compactors, and site equipment
  • Off-road diesel engines across makes

What we fix

  • Engine diagnostics and repair — no-start, low power, smoke, and overheating
  • Fuel systems — injectors, pumps, and the contaminated-fuel problems stored equipment gets
  • Cooling systems — radiators packed with dust and debris are the classic equipment failure
  • Emissions and aftertreatment — DPF loading on machines that idle more than they work
  • Hydraulic systems — leaks, pressure loss, and pump problems
  • Electrical and charging — batteries, alternators, and starting faults
  • Preventive maintenance — service intervals by hours, not by guesswork

Dust and idle time are what kill equipment engines. A radiator packed with dust, an air filter past its life, and long idle hours that never build enough heat to burn off soot will take out a machine with plenty of life left in it. Hour-based service is far cheaper than the overhaul it prevents.

On-site at your yard or job site

For business customers we bring diagnostics and repairs to your location by appointment — useful when a machine is not worth trailering or cannot leave the site. Bigger jobs still run better in our bays, where we have the lifts, tooling, and parts. See fleet maintenance & management for how scheduled equipment service works, or fleet maintenance support if you already have someone running your equipment program.

Common questions

Do you work on Caterpillar and Kubota equipment?

Yes — Cat and Kubota are the two we see most, and between them they cover most of what runs on an Austin job site. Cat skid steers, compact track loaders, and mini excavators; Kubota excavators, tractors, and the compact diesels that turn up in a huge range of machines. We service other makes too — John Deere, Bobcat, Case, New Holland, Komatsu, Takeuchi, Yanmar, and JCB among them.

Can you come to our job site or yard?

For business customers, yes — we perform on-site diagnostics and repairs at your yard or job site across the Greater Austin Area, by appointment. Some work genuinely needs the machine in a bay, and we will tell you honestly which is which rather than making two trips out of one job.

Why does equipment fail sooner than a truck at the same hours?

Duty cycle. Equipment idles for long stretches, works in dust and heat, and rarely reaches the sustained load that keeps a modern diesel clean. That combination loads aftertreatment, dilutes oil, cakes radiators, and shortens filter life — which is why hour-based service on equipment matters more than mileage-based service on a truck.

Do you service generators?

No. We do not take on generator or standby power work. We service the diesel engines in mobile and off-road equipment — skid steers, excavators, loaders, tractors, and similar machines.
